Bengaluru: Five other Covid-19 patients in Karnataka have been found infected by the Omicron variant, taking the total number of such cases at eight.
While three new patients had history of international travel, the other two returned from Delhi, which led to the concerns of the spread of the Omicron community in India.
All the fifth had taken two doses of Covid-19 vaccine and did not suffer from severe illness, the health department authorities said.
While four patients were treated in a hospitalized hospital in Bengaluru, one was in Bellagavi.
