Varanasi: Three women and two children lost since reversing their ship in Ganga near Akhada Ghat at Vindhyachal cannot be tracked by divers and police involved in rescue operations even three days after the tragic incident.
Five missing allegedly sank.
Vindhyachal police caught a boat and photographer to pressure the family of Ranchi to take a boat.
Mirzapur SP Ajay Kumar said, “The Boatman Gautam and Pradeep Nishad photographer from the Tiwaripur area were arrested by the Vindhyachal police from Amrawati Crossing on Saturday morning.
The families of the people who are afraid of sinking from Jharkhand and Bihar have lodged to judge FIR against Gautam and Pradeep accusing That they pressed them to go to the bank opposite to take a bath even though there was a limit imposed by the district administration.
“The Duo has burdened the ship in the opposite bank, taking more passengers than the actual capacity, police said.
The pilgrims on the boat asked for Gautam and Pradeep to wait since starting heavy rain but they sailed by boat and upside down in the middle.
On September 8, Rajesh Tiwari from Ghuraha, Ranchi, in Jharkhand and relatively Vikas Kumar Ojha from Buxar had reached Vindhyachal with 10 members of their family and a driver to pray at the temple.
Before going to the temple, they went to Akhada Ghat to take a shower in the holy ganga when Gautam and Pradeep convinced them to ride a boat to the opposite bank.
Tiwari, Vikas (28), Deepep (27), ALKA (9), Ritika (7) and their drivers were saved by locals and other boat ships, while Gudia (28), Khusha (26), Satyam (26), Satyam (26), 5), a two-year-old Shaurya and a three-month-old girl was feared sinking.
NDRF personnel are also involved in rescue operations other than divers to trace missing people.
Shaurya’s body was found on Friday, but the other five were still lost and therefore the search operation continued, police said.
