5 people jumped from the Myanmar building to escape from the police; 2 dead

BANGKOK: Five people jumped from the apartment building in Yangon, Myanmar’s biggest city, to escape from government security forces who robbed the building, and at least two died, according to the government and media reports Wednesday.
During the attack on Tuesday night, security officers said in radio conversations that five people – four men and a woman – jumped from the apartment building before they could be arrested.
They said three died and two others suffered a life-threatening injury.
But in Wednesday’s statement, the government said the incident involved eight people.
It was said two died, three were hospitalized and the other three were arrested.
The police responsible for the attack declined to comment.
A neighbor told local media that five people had risen to the roof in an effort to escape security forces and jumped into the alley after they had no other place to go.
The government said the security forces carried out attacks after hearing that explosives may be in the apartment, and seize various items including firecrackers, gunpowder and “handmade grenades.” The four explosions were reported at Yangon before that day, but it was not clear whether they were related to the attack.
Since the military overthrew the elected government Aung San Suu Kyi in February and seized power, there had been lumps of protests throughout the country.
More than 900 people have been killed by the authorities since the takeover, many in anti-government protests, according to calculations stored by independent assistance associations for political prisoners.
The victim also increased among the military and the police when armed resistance grew in urban and rural areas.
