Lucknow: Five police officers, including sub-inspectors and four policemen, were suspended for not registering fir in the case of a man who tried to sacrifice himself in public in the Sultanpur district on Friday.
The complainant accused two young men struggling, but there were no actions taken by the police.
Police supervisors, Sultanpur, Vipin Mishra told the Toi that the victim, identified as Sarvesh Gautam, 22, had tried to generate in the Kadipur police station area, claiming that the police did not start his steps.
He underwent treatment at the SPM civil hospital in Lucknow.
Mishra further said that on July 23, the victim, who was identified as Sarvesh, was beaten by a Yadav Awlesh who also occurred as his brother.
Sarvesh’s mother remarried Awlohush’s father after his father died and now lived with them.
“Feeling alienated at home and humiliated openly, he went to file a complaint to the Shashikant Patel sub-inspector who allegedly refused,” Mishra said.
After that, Awlesh began to mock and make fun of Sarvesh in public.
This further led Sarvesh to be depressed and on Wednesday he tried to sacrifice himself at his residence, sprinkled the gasoline himself.
Local residents rushed Sarvesh to the district hospital.
Then, SP, Sultanpur arranged an investigation and on Friday he suspended the Shashikant Patel along with Constables Babban Yadav, Pradeep Kumar, Akhilesh Yadav and Arpit Kumar who were present on the day Sarvesh was hit in public.
SP also said that the investigation was also carried out by a joint rank rank officer.
