Gurugram: City corporation Gurgaon (MCG) on Thursday sealed five properties for non-payment of their property tax contributions of more than Rs 75 Lakh.
Officials said, one property owner at Udyog Vihar-4 has been awaiting property tax worth Rs 11.87 Lakh, the other in sector 109 has a contribution worth Rs 14.83 Lakh, respectively, two property owners have Rs 15.92 lakh and Rs 18.54 lakh, and one property owner in Mahavirpura has incredible contributions worth Rs 14.38 lakh.
“To recover the delayed property tax, MCG first disconnected water and gutter connections from absent but because they did not pay attention, drive sealing was done.
If they still fail to clean their contributions, their properties will be auctioned,” said an official.
The Haryana government has announced the release of 25% on property taxes for the fiscal year 2021-22 if paid on September 30.
In addition, an additional 10% of Rebates will also be given for this year until September 30.
MCG estimates that RS 1,103 Crore income from property taxes only in the 2020-21 fiscal year, they can only produce Rs 250 Crore.
Income from property taxes in the fiscal year 2021-22 is estimated at 1,235 crore rs.
