Hyderabad: The five marijuana vendors were arrested and 214 kg of smuggled goods confiscated from their ownership by police in Kothur on Sunday night.
Police Cyberabad said that the defendant was arrested when a contraband item was packaged in a two kg package, being shifted from a car to another.
Residents of Maharashtra BS Chandekar, P Tirumali Balu, N Ganesh, Rajendra was arrested along with M Vinod, who came from the Suryapet district.
The police said that Nagaraju spoke with his contacts in the border area of Andhra Pradesh-Odisha after four people from Maharashtra asked him to arrange marijuana.
Four were accused of going to the AP and took marijuana to Kothur, where Chandekar, Tirumali, Ganesh and Rajendra were waiting.
Based on the tip-off, the police arrested five people.
