5-star security rating, connected car: What is it and what it means for users

Tata Motors recently announced that the upcoming Tata Punch SUV has received a 5 star rating for the protection of adult residents and 4-star rating for child residents’ protection from Global NCAP (new car assessment program).
In early this month, Tata Punch will be launched on October 18 and will be part of the mini / micro SUV segment.
This is likely to be appreciated in the range of Rs 5.5 lakh until Rs 8 Lakh (former showroom).
Tata Punch is the third company of the company to receive 5 star rating for adult protection from Global NCAP after Altroz and Nexon.
Regardless of safety, the connected car is the latest keyword among the car maker.
Almost every other brand integrates more technology inside to make cars smarter, safer and better.
We explain the 5-star security rating of what cars can do what can be done and more.
How the security test is done, the manufacturer reaches global NCAP with requests to send models for voluntary testing.
For this test, there is an independent selection of vehicles in any factory or dealer.
After this, the vehicle was sent to the laboratory where various accident tests were carried out for detailed technical inspections.
What is the Global Ncapfor of those who are unconscious, Global NCAP is a program of Zero Foundation experts, an UK-based charity that works internationally to support the UN decade of action for road safety, with the aim of dividing two deaths and serious injuries in 2030.
2014, Global NCAP launches a safer car for Indian campaigns with the aim of promoting safer vehicles in this country.
Between 2014 and 2021 programs have completed more than forty-five safety assessments.
What that means for users explains that this is not a mandatory safety assessment.
This is something that car makers do to increase the wildness or security of their new products.
So the car is ‘safer’ to speak but as we say is not included under the scope of mandatory safety regulations.
This is a good M safety feature at the Carslet taking the sample punch – because it has got a 5 star rating – which is equipped with two airbags, ABS brakes and isofix anchorages.
This can be increased by completing the model with standard electronic stability control (ESC), the side impact protection system as standard and 3 belt points in all seating positions.
Now, this is a rather “standard” feature that most car manufacturers combine depending on the launched car segment.
Connected car safety features: A car connected in India still explores the initial waters.
For example, Tata uses IRA technology in a model such as Nexon, Altroz, and Punch.
On Tata punch, it comes as an additional package that is only available in the top creative variant.
This technology allows you to access and control various car functions through your smartphone.
It also allows you to track the direct location of your car and set a geo-fence perimeter to receive notifications about violations.
For example, if someone tries to steal your car, you will get an instant warning on your smartphone.
This application also tells you when someone tries to enter your car.
This package also allows you to control and monitor several things like a key function and unlock, turn it on and turn off the headlights and more through the application.
Here too, Tata is not the first brand or the only thing to do.
Hyundai uses something called Blue Link, which has more than 30 features, including the ability to lock / unlock the car.
Or Kia Motors has a UVO Connect, which can be integrated with smartphones and smartwatch users.
Kia also provides functions such as direct car tracking, automatic collision notifications among others.
