Rajkot: Five people including three patients in private hospitals suffering from inhaled smoke after a broken fire in the laboratory located adjacent to it in Junagadh City on Monday.
At least 10 patients from a private hospital shifted to Junagadh’s civil hospital after a fire broke out in the laboratory located in Sardar Bauug Road.
According to officials Junagadh firefighting they got a telephone around 4.15 in the morning about the smoke coming out of the first floor of a three-story building.
The source said that the patient woke up because it was weak because of heavy smoke originating from the lab quickly spread to a caneria hospital located on the same floor.
Patients who jumped from the first floor to save themselves.
Some patients ran to the terrace to escape from being weak.
However, no one was injured.
Five people including three patients and their two relatives suffered from inhalation of smoke while ten other patients were saved and shifted to a civil hospital in 108 ambulances.
Firefighting officials believe that the fire broke out due to a short circuit in the inverter.
The laboratory is closed and fire officials must destroy the key and grill to enter.
It took half an hour to control the fire.
Sources also claim that the fire extinguisher and other fire equipment in the lab did not operate, however, firefighters verify this accusation.
