Kolkata: Some people, claiming to be a supporter of the East Bengal Sports Club, were arrested for holding a demonstration on uncertainty about the sponsor of football clubs, officials said, officials said.

The police, however, denied claims by supporters that many of them were injured in the cost of Lathi.
“They suffered injuries during a fight between two support groups,” said a police officer.
“We repeatedly told them to empty the area that remembers the Covid-19 protocol, but they did not listen to us.
We must pick up Lathi to control the crowd,” he said.
A team of police officers has been deployed in the area to prevent unwanted incidents, he added.
Bengali East Bengal official sports club reportedly refused to sign the final agreement with sponsors, which doubted the participation of red-and-gold clothing in the future tournament.
