50% of COV cases are reported from Khurda and Cuttack

Bhubaneswar: Cuttack and Khurda Regency on Saturday contributed nearly 50% of Covid leaning in the country even because there was a sharp decline in daily infections in six other coastal districts.
Although there was a significant decrease in overall daily infections, the percentage of children (in the age group of 18 years) infected slightly from 17.24% high to 17.32%.
The country reported 681 new cases from 67,229 samples that registered only 1% TPR.
From new cases, Khurda and Cuttack reported 222 and 101 new cases.
This is a second time in a week, TPR remains 1% with 118 children detected positively for Covid-19 of 681 new cases.
Seven teenage students from one educational institution in Bargarh Regency had been tested positively.
Ajay Parida, Director, Institute of Life Sciences (ILS) said the increase in the number of infected children appeared as a Pan-Indian trend.

There were no new infections reported from Balalangir, Gajapati, Nuabada and Kandhamal Regency on Saturday.
Coastal District Jajpur, Jagatsinghpur, Kendrapada, Bhadrak, Nayagarh and Puri have also reported very few cases every day.
