Gurgaon: About 50 Shanties built on forest land in the Kadanpur area withdrawn on Monday which cleaned around 4 hectares.
Karambir Malik, Forest Range Officer, Gurgaon, said a similar drive would be carried out in Barai next week to eliminate encroachment on 3-hectare forest land.
“We have issued a dismantling notice to the people who live in the cottage.
Last week, we have provided notice to people in Kadanpur too,” he added.
Based, there were around 60 Shanties, officials said.
Speaking of forest land that was cleaned from encroachment, Malik said: “We will do a plantation drive in the area to recover green cover.
We have fenced up for forest areas in an effort to prevent wild residents.” Land in Kadanpur and Basai recently handed over to the Department Forestry by local civil institutions in exchange for green areas used for development projects.
