Pune: the district has reached a true milestone to fully vaccinate around 50% (41.77 lakh) from the target population against Covid-19 through special drives, supported by consistent supply of vaccines.
The Ministry of Health said the district had a target population of 83.42 lakh.
From them, 41.77 lakh is fully protected now with both Jab, while 77.86 lakh has had at least the first dose.
According to the Ministry of Health officials, they have set the October 31 deadline to achieve a 50% double vaccination target.
A steady response from beneficiaries helps them reach previous landmarks.
Data from the district health office said the double vaccination among health workers, frontline workers and 60-plus age groups at PMR were almost 80%.
Sanjay Deshmukh, Assistant Director (Medical), Pune Circle, said, “We have two goals on October 31 – 100% vaccination of the first dose recipient and provide a second dose to 50% of the target population.
We reach the target to give the second dose earlier because The response to the first dose has dropped now.
For the remaining first dose recipients, we will adopt the targeted approach.
