50 SP workers booked to ‘stop traffic’ in EPE

Greater Noida: More than 50 Jamajwadi Party workers on Wednesday were ordered for allegedly stopping traffic at the Eastern Perperal Expressway (EPE) when they headed for the General Meeting held by the Head of the Akhilesh Yadav Party and Rashtriya Lok Dal’s Jayant Chaudhary in Meerut.
Police said the video of the workers who violated the traffic rules near the Akbarpur BEEL under the jurisdiction of Dadri police were widely distributed on social media on Tuesday morning.
“Visual shows a large cavalkade of vehicles on the toll road and party workers waving flags from their cars.
The supporters raised the slogan and continued to hate.
Some cars also block EPE and loud music filled the toll road,” said Pradeep Tripathi, Sho, Dadri Police Station.
The police took Suo Motu’s awareness and registered a case against 50-60 unknown people under the IPC part 188 (disobedience to order correctly announced by public servants), Tripathi added.
The head of the Noida SP unit Mindhan said the action against his party workers was “irrational”.
“Workers tend to be excited during the demonstration.
We have never seen the police take action against the leadership party when they regulate such programs,” he said.
