Surat: More than 500 electric buses will soon join the existing fleet of 800 BRTs buses in the next few months.
It was announced by Commissioner of the City of Banchhanidhi Pani while participating virtually at Dubai World Expo 2020 on Wednesday.
PANI presents the city’s electric vehicle policy – 2021 of the Municipal Corporation (SMC) letter while overcoming the conference with the main theme ‘linking the mind, creating the future’ with sub-themes ‘sustainability, opportunities and mobility.’ More than 190 countries participated in the event which is currently taking place from October 31 to November 6 “SMC works to implement the concept of polyhamrut from Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
We move forward with electricity mobility and reduce carbon generation,” Pani said.
“Apart from an electric vehicle that replaces traditional fuel vehicles, we work to reach zero clean by adopting renewable energy resources.
We have developed a 51 megawatt electricity production capacity through renewable energy resources,” he added.
Pani further claimed that this city was developing multi-model transportation facilities and it would be the first of its type of project in this country.
A group of top government officials from the country to participate physically in the exhibition, but they cannot leave because of last minute changes.
However, a group of officials from the center participated in the event.
