Bengaluru: More than 51.1% of students and staff in the Government of Bengaluru and college responsible have been vaccinated against Covid-19, according to the Ministry of Higher Education.
The city consists of eight BBMP zones and the total number of students and staff at government colleges and assistance is 62,255.
Of these, 31,826 was vaccinated on July 8 8.
Among students, 31,147 students of 59,179 (52.6%) were vaccinated.
Of 3,076 staff, 2518 (81.9%) were vaccinated.
Some colleges have drives on campus for students and staff.
Minister of Higher Education CN Ashwath Narayan has announced that in all states, 65.1% of students and government college staff and assistance have been vaccinated until July 7.
The government has tried to resolve the vaccination of all students and staff before reopening college.
While the Minister of Higher Education said there was no date set to reopen, officials at the minister’s office said they were seeing July 19.
