Pune: Report of the Ministry of Health has revealed that there are nearly 52 doses of Lakh Covishield lying in private hospital reserves throughout the state, the quantity that has sparked concerns about waste because the expiration date will occur soon.
Toi on February 3 has reported concerns from the Indian Medical Association which says most of the estimates of 50 lakh covishield doses, lying with private hospitals nationally, can be in vain unless there is intervention.
The Ministry of Health denied ima’s claim.
But the state report has now shown that Maharashtra’s private hospital itself has 52 doses of lakh lying down with them.
Private hospitals have now been told to send data about the dose with the expiration date that will soon occur (February late or early March) to avoid waste.
The report said private hospitals in Pune had the most dose in reserves – 19.96 doses of lakh, followed by Mumbai (17.95 lakh doses).
An official from the State Health Department, who has shared a ‘stock balance’ data with TOI in anonymous condition, “according to the Evin portal, 52.16.024 Covishield doses currently lie with private centers in Maharashtra.
We don’t know how much of this dose Who faces expiration.
“Evin, or electronic vaccine intelligence network, allows monitoring of real-time stocks.
The official said, “It is unlikely that private hospitals will get new shares because free shooting in the government unit has cut the turn for the paid.
Most likely old shares lie with the state private hospital for the same three months, they have the same number .
