Jaipur: Fifty-two people were tested positive for Omicron on Saturday, taking the state counting to 121.
Covid variants that were very transmitted now competing in all states as three more districts – Pratapgarh, Sirohi and Bikaner – reported their first omicron cases.
The first nine cases of omicron were reported from Jaipur on December 5 and since then infection increased.
However, symptoms in patients like it are light and they recover well.
A senior health official said among 69 previously reported cases, 61 had recovered.
He said, “Among new cases, 38 came from Jaipur, each of the Pratapgarh, Sirohi and Bikaner, two of Jodhpur and each of the Ajmer, Sikar and Bhilwara.” The health department official traces new cases and tracks their history.
This is mandatory for all Omicron patients to be hospitalized according to central guidelines.
“We have found that of 52 new cases, nine has a history of foreign trips.
They have just returned from abroad and their genome sequencing revealed that they were infected by Omicron.
We have directed officials to recognize omicron patients to the dedicated Covid Hospital in each -Masing district followed the central guideline, “the official said.
While tracing contacts, it was found that four omicron patients come into contact with foreign travelers, 12 have arrived from other countries and two come into contact with people who have tested positive omicron before.
