GREATER NOIDA: A 52-year-old was shot dead while his son was attacked in clashes between the two groups over an old dispute in the area Jahangirpur jewar on Monday night.
Joseph and his son Sher Muhammad 22 years have returned home from their fields when a group of four people gheraoed duo and confronted them over a long-running dispute.
Police said some members of the two families have fought over disputed previously and imprisoned as well.
However, on Monday night, the accused arrived and took a fight with his son Joseph and again on a small road rage incident.
Additional DCP (Greater Noida) Vishal Pandey said that others hit the vehicle that caused the argument.
This led to violent struggle between the two sides followed by firing.
Joseph was taken to a private hospital where he died.
According to police, around 4.45 on Tuesday, 45 years old Joseph and his son Sher Mohammad (22) was walking toward their home from their fields in Jahangirpur region of Greater Noida when the accused identified as Irfan, Sufiyan, Armaan and Farmaan who arrived in cars, surrounded them and attacked them near the road Nagliya.
Police said the accused of deliberately hitting Yusuf vehicle with their car.
While Sher Mohammad suffered a serious head injury, his father Joseph, was shot dead on the spot.
Spectators took the father-son duo to a nearby private hospital where Joseph declared brought dead.
FIR has been filed for murder and assault against four defendants who belonged Vyapariyan jewar local area.
Pandey said that both sides have a long-running dispute and has a criminal background.
“Both the victim and the accused has a case filed against them.
Both sides belong to different sects of the same community but had a long-running dispute.
Both have killed one person from each side in the past and have each murder case filed against them, “he said.
SHO jewar Umesh Bahadur told TOI that a few months ago, ban the action taken against the two sides to make sure they do not resort to any kind of criminal activity.
