52k who pay property tax since July 1 get a 5% discount

Nagpur: Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC) automatically provides a 5% discount in property tax to 52,420 people who pay their property tax for current fiscal from July 1.
Their property tax for the next fiscal is reduced by adjusting the number of rebates.
On August 6, Kota Commissioner Radhakrishnan B has implemented a 5% rebate, which is the first in the history of the civic body, starting July 1 with a retrospective effect.
Data with the NMC property tax department under the Deputy Commissioner (Revenue) Milind Mesham shows that 52,420 people pay RS 14.63 crore tax for fiscal is currently between July 1 and July 17.
Thus, the rebates work on RS61,46 Lakh.
Rabat 5% applies to NMC general taxes and other components and not on the state government components.
In normal courses too, rebates are given for initial payments only on public taxes.
Considering financial setbacks for the majority of people because of the Pandemic Covid-19, Radhakrishnan comes with a rebate system to encourage early payments and provide benefits for taxpayers.
Meshram told TOI that the taxpayer will pay the current fiscal tax until December 31 will automatically receive the benefits instantly.
“We have reduced 5% tax in the system itself,” he said.
Taxpayers will not get a discount of arrears.
They will get a discount of paying fiscal tax at this time.
The majority of 9248 from a total of 52 420 beneficiaries coming from the zone of Hanuman Nagar, followed by 8389 from Nehru Nagar Zone, 6753 from Laxmi Nagar Zone, 6,051 of Zone Lakadganj, 5584 from Zone Ashi Nagar, 4,066 of Zone Dharampeth, 2,723 of Zone Mangalwari, 2,723 of Satranjipura Zone, 2,673 from the Gandhibagh zone and 2,621 from the Dhantoli zone.
Previously, NMC had applied a 10% rebate for tax payments between April 1 and June 30.
About 51,000 taxpayers benefited from the scheme.
They have to pay taxes even before receiving the demand note from NMC.
