Ahmedabad: When the number of cases of diseases transmitted through vectors rose in the city, the AMC Malaria control department conducted an examination at 380 commercial companies on Monday and fined 53 of them found a mosquito breeding site.
The team of seven civic body zones collected a total of 6.3 lakh Rs in a fine of building residents where mosquito breeding was found.
The Civic body issued a notification to 254 companies examined.
The highest number in a fine was collected from a commercial building in the North West Zone, Rs 2,02,500, followed by Rs 1,03,000 in the South West Zone and RS 93,000 from the West Zone.
The cargo motorbike in the largest number was fined, RS 35,000, was attended by RS, 30,000 each for Bhavin and home town-04 construction in Chandkheda.
The AMC team found mosquito breeding at Bopal fire station too.
“Mosquito breeding was found at the Bopal Fire Extinguisher and we fined RS 5,000.
We found the breeding site on the terrace, in a flower pot, water tank, lift hole, and even in a refrigerator tray,” AMC official said.
