New Delhi: A total of 138 terrorists have been killed and 55 were arrested at Jammu & Kashmir so far this year, even when CRPF and BSF have increased the spread in the valley by sending an additional 3,000 and 2,500 personnel each behind the officers recently murder.
According to Kashmir IGP Vijay Kumar, 130 terrorists have been killed in counter-terror actions, and 39 terrorists and more than 700 Overground workers are arrested in the Kashmir area since the beginning of this year.
In the Division of Jammu, eight terrorists have been neutralized and 16 captured so far this year, ADGP and IGP (Jammu) Mukesh Singh told TII.
To fight the work strategy of terrorists to take advantage of the recruitment of “hybrid” for one-time attack on civilians and easy targets in Kashmir, CRPF has initiated a series of steps to increase their visibility in the field and use a deterrent strategy, said CRPF spokesman.
“While BSF has mobilized 25 additional companies in Kashmir, CRPF was also sent in reinforcements consisting of 25 companies after civilian attacks and would use five more companies for the next week,” said an officer.
While the focus is to increase boots on the ground with more police and para-military personnel in the civilian region, a source recognizes that it remains a Herculean task to ensure excellent security for all civil settlements that remember how thick and widespread them.
