5,544 pg empty chairs after round II entered

Bhubaneswar: A total of 5,544 PG seats have been lying blank in various state universities and colleges throughout the state after completion of the second round of reception.
Spot acceptance process is expected to start from November 17 to fill empty seats.
The state has a total of 14,968 PG seats in universities 59 degrees and 14 state universities.
9,424 seats have been filled during the first and second entrance ticket.
“We tried starting the reception process for the PG course from November 17.
The Ministry of Higher Education will issue guidelines for the entrance ticket after a few days,” said an official.
The receipt process is monitored by the Odisha State Education Council (OSHEC).
It has made the first round reception between 23 and 28 October.
Likewise, the second round entrance ticket was carried out between November 5 and 9.
About 53,000 students have emerged for the general entrance test (CPET) -2021 between August 23 and September 3 to enter the PG course.
Although 52,639 students have paid fees, only 37,492 are considered for selection of capacity intake of 14,968 PG seats in 73 institutions.
The University has 8,410 pg chairs, while colleges have a capacity of 6,590.
Students who fail to get chairs on the first and second round tickets can take part in the entrance ticket and try to get a PG seat in one of the institutions, said OSHEC members.
