Thane: Police Thane recently raided a bar located on the outskirts of Kalyan and arrested 56 people on charges of obscenities and violated Covid-19 norms, said an official on Tuesday.
Based on the tip-off, the official stormed the Monalisa restaurant and bar, which is located on Jalan Haji Malan near Kalyan East, on Sunday night.
When he reached the venue, the police found that 21 women enjoyed obscene acts with nearly 30 customers, said Senior Police Inspector Vilas Patil.
In addition, most of them, including management, are also seen moving without masks and violates social blasphemy norms, so as to ignore Covid-19 guidelines.
After the attack, the police arrested all 21 women, 30 customers, and five others from management.
They have been ordered under various parts of the Indian Criminal Code (IPC), epidemic law and disaster management laws.
In addition, the police have also recovered cash worth 63,410 from the bar and has confiscated a music system worth Rs 14,500.
Strict action will be taken against the defendant, police said.
