Vadodara: A 56-year-old police died after a truck hit him near Ranoli Bridge at the National Highway 48 on Tuesday morning.
The deceased Rajendra Kumar Jaiswal rides his motorcycle when it comes to work when the incident happened around 10am.
According to the police, the tempo coming from the wrong side caused a fatal accident.
Jaiswal, a resident of Ranoli, posted in the same police station as a sub-inspector assistant.
When he reached the service road near the hotel but, a sudden tempo came from the wrong side.
CCTV footage of the incident showed that Jaiswal then lost his bicycle balance and he fell on the road.
A truck passing right next to Jaiswal ran on it caused a severe injury to his head, kill him in place.
However, the tempo driver, who drove on the wrong side, escaped from the place and the police were looking to catch him.
Locals say that many heavy vehicles often drive on the wrong side on the road this service causes serious accidents.
After an accident on Tuesday, the police had intensified the urge to crack down on heavy vehicles moving in the city.
