Nagpur: A study of the causes of road accidents by 2021 by the city traffic police have revealed that nearly 57% of them occurred due to overtaking, drivers’ mistakes and poor road conditions.
These factors are responsible for 127 accidents that killed 133 people, research was revealed.
It also caused 203 seriously, 170 minor and 45 without an injury accident.
As many as 373 people suffered injuries in this accident.
However, dangerous driving is the second largest reason behind the maximum road accident in the city.
This study was conducted under the guidance with CP Aswati Dorje and DCP (traffic) Awad Sarang.
About 19% of the accidents on the road were reported in the city due to dangerous driving, while 13.64% of accidents occurred due to accelerating.
More than speeding killing 58 people and injuring 101 in 129 accidents.
This finding occurs during city police investigations every accident.
Driving the wrong side also caused 38 accidents that killed four people and injured 44 others.
Driving a two-wheeled vehicle without a helmet proved expensive for 12 people who died of a head injury suffered by accident.
A total of 40 accidents were reported where two-wheeled riders were killed or sustainable injury.
Not using a seat belt while driving a car proved expensive for a driver of a woman who met a fatal accident.
Traffic police have recorded three accidents claiming the life of a female driver, while injuring four men and one woman.
However, the jumping signal, which was rampant, contributed to seven road accidents that injured 10 people, including six men.
141 pedestrians were killed in 2021 this study revealed that pedestrians were more susceptible to road accidents.
In 2021, because 70 pedestrians were killed, while 141 was injured in an accident.
It was followed by cyclists and lvt drivers or passengers.
A total of 17 cyclists and 14 LMV (or passenger) drivers were killed, while 29 and 96 people were injured in these two categories.
