Gurgaon: About 57 Undertrial Prisoners nested in Faridabad District Prison for 48 different theft cases, home solving actions and weapons were released on Wednesday after disposal of their case at Lok Adalat specifically.
This is the number of highest undrylient detainees released at Lok is in one day.
Usually, Lok Adalat takes cases related to the actions of motorized vehicles, compensation and electricity and similar cases.
Jail Faridabad has around 2,431 prisoners where 1,794 are under it and 624 is a prisoner punished.
On Wednesday, Lok Adalat specifically held in Jail Faridabad where around 83 cases were taken from where 48 cases related to theft, fighting and weapons efforts were resolved.
The undertrails were released after considering the amount of time spent in prison as sentenced.
The detainees, which are released, are not desirable in other crimes.
Judicial Judge’s Head and Secretary of the District Legal Service Authority (DLSA) Faridabad, Manglesh Choubey, said, “They were given the opportunity to reform and engage in several social work and contribute.” He added that they had spent time in prison and now they can start a new life outside and become part of the community.
Jaikishan Chillar’s supervisor said this was one of the largest lok in prison where the maximum number of detainees was released after the disposal of their case.
“We have never released so many prisoners in one day,” Chillar said, adding that there was no single prisoner in the Nimka Jail of Faridabad who did not have a lawyer to represent their case in court.
Those who do not have their private lawyers, DLSA has given them government lawyers.
Choubey said that on July 10, National Lok Adalat was being held where 1,258 cases would be taken at which 492 related to Challan traffic and 328 for compensation cases.
