Noida: A good Samaritan who saved the victims of road accidents and took him to the hospital in the ‘Gold Hour’ now will be rewarded with Rs 5,000.
Scheme, DCP (Traffic) Ganesh Prasad Saha said, it has been launched with the aim of limiting the number of deaths in street crashes and increasing road safety in districts that reported more than 2,000 deaths in the last five years over the past five years.
“Even though there is an effort, the first respondent or the people who are the first people to find accidents are still hesitant to help victims afraid of police probes,” Sahha said.
DCP added that many lives can be saved if a victim can get medical assistance in the ‘Gold Clock’ – a period of time lasts one hour after a traumatic injury where there is the highest possibility to prevent medical care.
“People don’t need to worry about the police and even need to understand that a good Samaria will not be responsible for civil or criminal obligations and is permitted to immediately leave the hospital,” Saha said.
Previously, the central government gave Rs 2,000 to people because they helped victims of accidents on the road during the ‘gold hours’.
The number, which was revised to RS 5,000 by the Ministry of Road Transportation and the highway in October last year, will remain valid since March 31, 2026.Aha, meanwhile, said people who pass or victims can also inform the call 112 – Helpline number.
Looking for police help or fire and ambulance services.
“When informed, the traffic department and the police team reached the point of accidents and took photos and videos, which helped ensure the cause of the accident.
Traffic police also feed data on the basis of integrated road accident (IRAD) for analysis,” said Saha.
Recently, district police launched a boost to attach reflective cassettes on vehicles, barricades and pillars to curb accidents during bad weather conditions.
The condition of the dense fog, police said, during the winter leads to reducing visibility and made the city road vulnerable to accidents.
