6 accused of offering to sell babies to get PCR

Yavatmal: The Wani Court on Saturday gave the detention of police given to October 4 to six people arrested for allegedly trying to sell a 15-day girl.
The defendant has been identified as a preetharan, president of Beti Foundation, Wani, Kavadu Darekar, Gauri Borute, Mangala Raut, all members of the foundation, and Sunil and Panchfera Dayaak, parents of babies, all residents of Rangnath Nagar from Wani.
Police Wani has registered a crime under 370 IPC and other relevant laws a complaint submitted by Pallavi Kulkarni, a teacher from the Akola district, on Friday.
The girl was detained and handed over to the child’s welfare committee official who then sent the child to ‘Shishu Gruha’ at Wardha.Pi Baban Karhale said three cellphones worth RS17,000, used to contact Kulkarni, had sized.
Darekar claimed to have tried to get into the agreement to sell the child, the police said.
