Thiruvananthapuram: A fisherman drowned and 2 went missing six fishing boats off Vizhinjam shore on Tuesday night. Davidson, 55, of Poonthura is your dead person. Hunt is on for 2 different cyclists — Joseph and Xavier. Coastal police channel CI Elias George and his staff received an alert to fishing boats capsizing on Tuesday night. The group was in the harbour before morning working together with the fishermen and tracking that the rescue mission. Old police officers, ministers Antony Raju and Saji Cherian also seen Vizhinjam. A press note stated three sorties were completed from Indian Coast Guard (ICG) Ship C-441 at the night involving inclement weather. Six sailors were rescued and one of them was hurt and has been admitted into the hospital. On Wednesday afternoon ICG aircraft Dornier along with ICG boats Abhinav, C-441 & C-427 collectively operated for its rescue and search. Rescue operations are in progress and case has been monitored. Davidson was a part of a three-member team which abandoned fishing by Poonthura. Two other bikers sailed safely into the coast. Coast Guard rescued two riders from a ship named Sindhumatha about 2.30am. Joseph was this ship. Xavier was a part of those fishermen who travelled from Vizhinjam. Two cyclists float in Ashtamudi Kollam: 2 cyclists from Kundara, Antony Babu (63) and Cletus Babu (49), drowned at Ashtamudi Lake amid heavy rainfall and wind. They’d gone fishing from 3pm on Tuesday. As they did not return by dawn, their loved ones started a hunt. From 3pm Sabu’s body has been procured from Munroe island region along with Antony’s body has been recovered by Perumon from 6pm. The bodies have been altered to the mortuary in Kundara taluk hospital. Sabu is survived by wife Sheeba along with his kids, Sebi along with Arun. Antony is survived by his wife Gracie along with his kids, George and Seena.
