Nagpur: At least six people have been arrested for allegedly robbing jewelry valuables worth Rs 75 lakh in Bhandara district of Maharashtra, police said on Wednesday.
The charges were allegedly robbed Vinor Bhujade, a resident of Mahatma Phule Ward, in broad daylight on Monday, and fell asleep with a bag containing gold and silver ornaments, an official said.
Jewelry has reached his shop with a bag of ornaments and have been placed near the shutter and speak to other shopkeepers when the defendant grabbed the bag and fled on two wheels, he said.
Based on the CCTV footage from the area, police concentrate on their charges and raided their home in Kalamna on Tuesday, the official said, adding that valuables stolen have also been recovered.
The defendant Om Ashok Yadav (26), Raghu Krishna Yadav (23), Vasudeo Yadav (21) and Shravan Sagar Yadav comes from Kalamna, while Rakesh Vijay Pradhan (50) Hails from Odisha and Chiranjiv alias Shubham Sanjay Yadav is a native of Madhya Pradesh, he said.
The gang has been involved in several robberies in the District Gondia, Bhandara and Nagpur in Maharashtra and Surat in Gujarat Sembara, the official added.
