Mumbai: Five people were injured after the lower structure of construction of land-plus-floors collapsed on a side by side in Mehta Baba Chawl in Andheri on Tuesday night.
According to the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation Disaster Management Department (BMC), a Fire Extinguisher Vishwas Dattaram friendly, 51, suffered minor injuries and was rushed to the nearest private hospital.
He was dismissed after receiving major medical assistance.
The incident occurred at around 12:30 a.m.
The five injured have been identified as Akbar Mehtab Shaikh (60), Chand Akbar Shaikh (34), Arif Samshuddin Shaikh (17), Hazra Samshuddin Shaikh (18) and Shamshuddin Shaikh (50).
All those who were hurt rushed to Cooper Hospital, the hospital source said.
Police and firefighters immediately rushed to the place of receiving information.
The reason behind the collapse has not been confirmed.
