Mumbai: Six people have advanced to fight Deglur Bypoll assembly scheduled for October 30 on Congress tickets, senior leaders and Maharashtra Minister Ashok Chavan said on Friday.
Bypoll has been required for the death of the congress sitting MLA Raosaheb Antapurkar and among those who have filed their intention for the contest is his son Jitesh, Chavan said after a party meeting here.
The names will be forwarded to all Indian Congress Committee, which will take the final decision, he added.
Deglur is part of Lok Sabha Nanded’s constituency.
The last date for archiving nominations is October 8, while supervision of papers will take place on October 11 and the form can be withdrawn on October 13.
Voice will be counted on November 2.
