Madurai / Trichy: The number of new Covid-19 cases recorded in ten South District Tamil Nadu rose to 61 on Thursday.
This is the highest in a day since November 18, clearly shows an increase in the number of new cases.
The number of active cases rose to 509, which was the highest since December 2.
Kanyakumari (13) recorded the highest number of cases, followed by Tuticorin (12) and Virudhunagar (11).
Tirunelveli (8), Madurai (6), Dindigul (4), Sivagaai (3), Ramanathapuram (3) and Theni (1) noted less than 10 cases.
The center recorded 39 new cases, slightly increased, with 469 active cases and 43 recovery.
Thanjavur (10) reported most of the new cases followed by Trichy (9) and Karur (6).
Trichy (128) has the number of active cases followed by Thanjavur (116) and Karur (112).
One death was reported at Arialurin the region.
