6 new omicron cases in k’taka; Cluster in DK.

Mangaluru / Bengaluru: Karnataka reported six cases of covid-19 omicron variants on Saturday, with a total of 14.
The sixth is a daughter of between 13 and 18 years and only one has a history of international travel.
While one case was in Bengaluru, the rest came from Dakshina Kannada.
All stable and have mild symptoms, said the Ministry of Health Authority.
Five cases of omicrons were detected in two clusters in Dakshina Kannada District, one in Mangaluru and others on Bantwal, is a cause of concern.
“In accordance with the initial contact, the Ministry of Health did not find the history of traveling abroad in one of the cases,” said Dakshina District Commissioner Kannada KV Rajendra.
They all have fully recovered, he added.
Four female students of housing school in Bantwal, which changed positive covid on November 21, was detected by the Omicron variant.
Girls, 13-14 years old were not vaccinated, and all fever and losing the scent and taste.

A 19-year-old woman from a private nursing college in Mangaluru, who was tested positively on December 9, was detected by the Omicron variant.

The Ministry of Health officials visited educational institutions on Saturdays and found all healthy students.
All now negative for Covid.
Dr Ashok H, District Nodal Officer for Covid-19, Dakshina Kannada, said the sample of the two clusters was sent to sequencing genomes.
“None of the students who are symptomatic and they are healthy.
They do not have a history of traveling to any foreign countries or neighbors of Kerala.
Also, their parents do not visit Kerala and abroad,” said Dr.
Ashoka.
Six cases Saturday included 18-year-old Indian citizens traveling from England to Bengaluru on December 10.
He tested positively on arrival and the results of the genome sequencing detected by omicron on Saturday.
Overall, 19 contacts were tested negatively, the officer said.
He is fully vaccinated and asymptomatic, and is currently isolated in a designated hospital.
With this, three districts in Karnataka now have omicron variants cases.
There were eight cases from Bengaluru, five of Dakshina Kannada and one of the BELOGIVAs.
