Eugene: Six people were shot during a concert at the AVENT Hall in Oregon on Friday night, and a suspected shooter had not been arrested, police said.
Officers responded Wow Hall at Eugene after the report shot around 9:30 a.m., police said in a statement.
“What law enforcement was found when they came to the scene was what you really expected when six people had just been shot,” said Police Chief Eugene Chris Skinner at a press conference.
“People just trying to get out of here, their friends are on the ground, they try to help.” Six people were taken to the hospital, and at least one of them was in critical condition, said Skinner.
Other injury levels are not immediately clear.
The shooting occurred in the back parking lot outside the place, the police and the Wow Hall leaders.
The concert featured Lil Bean & Zay Bang, and another artist, was detained in the hall at the time.
The police said there were no suspects detained.
Skinner described “chaos” when the officer arrived, and said investigators had not received much information from the possibility of witnesses.
Wow Hall released a statement on its website acknowledging the shooting but declined to speculate in any detail.
“We at Wow Hall want to thank all the first respondents who came quickly to ensure the safety of everyone and manage first aid,” said the message.
“We believe all staff and volunteers are safe and calculated.” The investigator has not determined whether the shooting is random or targeted, the police chief said.
Eugene is located around 110 miles (177 kilometers) south of Portland, Oregon.
