Hyderabad: Six school students swimming in Manawa River in Rajana-Sircilla District in Telangana sank, police said on Tuesday.
The incident occurred on the outskirts of Sirza on Monday when a group of boys entered the river, but drowned without realizing the depth, they said.
While the body of one of the boys has recovered on Monday, the four of them were taken today, Sircilla Rural Police Station Inspector B Upender said adding search operations to find other boys.
The deceased was in the age group 11 to 16 years.
Cases have been registered, they said.
Meanwhile, Ti Telangana Minister KT Rama Rao revealed a deep surprise at the incident and expressed condolences to the grieving family.
