Pune: Six people have been arrested for allegedly using the telephone number of Maharashtra Maharashtra Minister Ajit Pawar to contact city-based builders and then try to squeeze Rs 20 Lakh from him, police said on Friday.
The crime branch put down the trap and lowered the accusation while receiving Rs 2 Lakh from the builder on Thursday, an official said.
According to the police, one who was accused of using a pawar number on the “fake call” application to call the complainant and pretend to come from the staff of deputy minister’s deputy chief.
The defendant was identified as Navnath Chormale, Saurabh Kakade, Sunil Waghmare, Kriran Kakde, Chaitanya Waghmare, and Akash Nikalje.
“The developer has bought a plot of land from Grandpa Chormale in 1997 after the process.
Chormale recently sought compensation from the developer and filed litigation.
He told the same thing with Kakde, who then offered his help by claiming to know the personal assistant of the pawar.
And promise.
That he will ask him to call the developer, “said an official.
Kakade then used a fake call application and called the developer using the pawplant number, he said.
“The Developer Assistant received a calling call that it was a pawa calling.
Kakda introduced himself as Pa Pawar and instructed him to ‘complete’ a problem with Chormale,” the official said.
After knowing about phone calls, the developer called Pa Pawar to confirm, only to find out that the call was not yet made from the deputy head of the minister, he said.
The developer then approached Chormale, who demanded Rs 20 lakh from him to resolve this problem, he said.
“The defendant was arrested by red hand while receiving Rs 2 Lakh.
During the investigation, Kakade revealed that he had used a fake call application and used the pawar number,” the official said.
Chormale, Kakade and the other four involved in the conspiracy have been captured under the relevant IPC parts, he said.
