Bengaluru: People who fall in 21-40 groups of groups contribute around 60% of fatal road accidents reported in the city in the past three years, according to a study conducted by the city traffic police.
As many as 2,117 people were accused / captured in 2,060 fatal road accidents between 2019 and 2021, and from those 1,238 belonging to the age group 21-40.
In addition, young people aged between 21 and 30 are more involved compared to those aged between 31 and 40 years.
According to data, in 2019, as many as 840 people were arrested or ordered to alleged their role in 810 fatal road accidents.
From them, 276 drivers who were accused / motorists were in the 21-30 age group while 210 between 31 and 40 years.
Thus, people aged between 21 and 40 were accused of 58% of fatal accidents.
In 2020, 655 were accused of being involved in 632 fatal road accidents in the city.
From them, 219 drivers / motorists were in the 21-30 age group, while 172 were between 31 and 40 years old.
People aged between 21 and 40 were accused of contributing to 60% of the accident.
Similarly, in 2021, 662 people were ordered in 618 fatal accidents.
From them, 245 belonged to the 21-30 age group while 166 were between 31 and 40 years.
Therefore, people aged between 21 and 40 were accused of being involved in more than 66% of fatal road accidents in the city, data said.
According to the commissioner with the police (traffic) BR Ravikante Gowda, a large number of road users aged between 31 and 40 years.
