Lucknow: With more than 17,000 people took the second dose of Covid vaccines on Tuesday, nearly 60% of the district adult population now fully vaccinated against disease.
Overall, 23,046 people took Jab in 178 vaccination centers in the last 24 hours.
Of these, 17,312 took the second shot and 5,734 got the first.
With this, now 22.4 lakh people in Lucknow have completed their two-dose vaccination courses.
The number is 60% of the population of 37.4 lakh district aged 18 years and over.
The number of people who are partly vaccinated with doses has risen to 12.8 lakh, which is 34% of the adult population.
These people will get the second dose after completing a period of gap 8-16 weeks.
However, there are still 2.2 lakh (6%) adults who have not taken the dose so far.
People in rural areas are left behind in vaccination because of hesitation, officials said.
Also, the proportion of women who come for lower inoculation than men, he added.
The mass immunization campaign drives against Covid-19 was launched on January 16 this year.
In 11 months, around 58 doses of lakh have been given during the trip so far.
Dr.
MK Singh District Immunization Officer said, “We are targeting to speculate 100% of the population with at least a shot in the first week of January and, in March, everyone in the district will be covered with two doses.”
