Letter: A 60-year-old man sank at the Narmada River near Limodara Village in Jhagadia Taluka from the Bharuch District on Sunday morning.
Although the villagers suspect that crocodiles might drag Ramji Rabari to the river, there was no official confirmation of the same thing from the Ministry of Forestry.
According to the police, the incident occurred when Rabari, a resident of Limodara Village, took his livestock to graze on the banks of the Narmada River on Sunday morning.
Immediately the villagers rushed to the banks of the river because rumors spread that Rabari was dragged in water by crocodiles.
His body was provoked and the police department and forest were also informed.
“Except for a few feet, there is no sign of another injury on his body.
To ensure the cause of death, we have sent the body to postmortem.
Village residents confirm the existence of crocodiles in the river,” said an official.
