Gurugram: The Ministry of Health has proposed five more micro detention zones as a city added 61 fresh covid cases on Monday.
This is the addition of the four new zones proposed by the department day back to contain the spread of the virus.
Amid the threat of the omicron variant of the virus, there has been a significant uptick in the number of cases in the last few days with 188 new cases reported in the last three days.
While 68 cases were recorded on Sunday, the highest this month, at least 59 cases were added on Saturday.
Since December 1, this city has added 508 new infections, which at least 317 is active with five patients under institutional quarantine.
“We have proposed five Mirco detention zones again today.
The district government will notify these fields,” said Virender Yadav, Chief Medical Officer.
The proposed area including the Irono Grand Arch in the 58 sector, which has four cases; Two houses in sector 7 with a total of four cases; Magnolias apartment on DLF 5 with four patients; And a house in the southern city with four patients, the official said.
The micro detention zone is a specific area where a number of Covid cases have been reported several times.
Depending on the number of cases, such zones can be notified after 14 days, officials said, adding that the Ministry of Health team will now conduct a door-to-door screening in homes that fall in the zone and do regular sanitization.
“Yes, we have received proposals from the Ministry of Health.
Our team has investigated the area before notifying them.
We will issue a fresh list tomorrow (Tuesday),” said Yash Garg, Deputy Commissioner, Gurugram.
On Sundays, the Ministry of Health has proposed to declare a flat in the Essel Tower of the Amber Sector Court (with five positive patients), Tulip Purple Sector 69 (four cases), Palam Vihar Block-C (three patients), and home in sector 45 (with Three cases) as a micro detention zone.
At present, the city has nine detention zones.
