64% have taken a dose 1 in GZB, 2nd shooting worry

Ghaziabad: The district has provided the first dose of the Covid vaccine to 66% of the targeted population of over 45 years and 61% of recipients in the 18-plus category.
Officials said a large number of people in the 45-plus age group did not advance for the second dose even though online registration was not mandatory for them.
So far, only 50.8% of the targeted population have taken the second shot.
According to data originating from the Ministry of Health, there are 8,78,250 recipients targeted in groups of 45-pluses.
So far, 5.82,433 has taken the first dose (66.3%) and 2,95,945 (50.8%) second shot.
Similarly, there were 18.80,276 people in the bracket aged 18-44.
From them, 11,53.632 (61.3%) had been given the first dose, but only 2,14,149 (18.5%) had taken the second shot.
Overall, almost 64%, including all categories, has taken the first dose in Ghaziabad, but only 30.8% have taken second jab.
The total number of recipients in the district is 28.06,929.
Only –2.6%, this district mostly managed to limit the waste vaccine of Mathuria GP, nodal officers for vaccination in Ghaziabad, agreed that the response to the second dose was not in accordance with the sign.
“The team that surveyed the door to the door spreads awareness and asked people to go to the nearest center.
They can get the second dose without a previous booking on the Cowin portal,” he added.
Meanwhile, two mega drives have been planned on Friday and September 20.
On Friday, which is the prime minister’s birthday, such a vaccination drive will be carried out throughout the country.
Ghaziabad has been given a target of 85,000 doses by the state government.
The source said the health department was preparing to provide 1.2 lakh doses.
Officials said that vaccines will be given in 200 centers in all districts.
Previously, Ghaziabad had been inoculating around 80,000 people in a day.
“So, the target of 85,000 is not big enough,” said an official.
