Coimbatore: A 65-year-old guy was assaulted and murdered by a wild elephant nearby Kopani book forest boundary at the Karamadai woods range on Wednesday afternoon.
An archaeological officer identified the dead M Karamdaiyan alias Rangasamy, a resident of Ansur tribal village at Velliyangadu panchayat.
He had been a dairy product.
“The incident happened around 4pm, when Karamdaiyan had been grazing his cows on patta land nearby Kopanari reserve forest border.
A crazy elephant suddenly barged him towards him and assaulted himkilling him immediately,” the officer stated.
When the neighboring villagers alerted, woods officials recovered the body of their dead person and sent to the Coimbatore Medical College and Hospital for postmortem, that could be done on Thursday.
The officer stated that the forest department had taken steps to trouble the instantaneous solatium of Rs 50,000 to the relatives of this gang assault victim.
