Mumbai: A 65-year-old man from Rajasthan has been arrested by anti-narcotics cells (ANC) in Mumbai with Heroin worth Rs 3 Crore, a police officer said on Monday.
According to officials, the defendant, identified as Pyare Amanulla Khan, was a native of Pratapgarh in Rajasthan.
Khan was arrested by the ANC of Mumbai police on Saturday, he said.
ANC has received a tip-off that large amounts of drugs are supplied in Mumbai from Rajasthan via trains and road routes.
Acting on this information, the ANC team put a trap on the outskirts of Borivali and arrested parents with 1 kg of Heroin worth Rs 3 Crore when he came for drug delivery, the official said.
Khan was arrested under the relevant parts of the NDPS law and was produced before the court, which returned it in police custody until January 19, he added.
