655 cases of death in police meetings throughout India; 191 in Chhattisgarh and 117 above

New Delhi: A total of 655 cases related to death in police meetings were registered throughout the country between January 1, 2017 and January 31, 2022, where Chhattisgarh contributed 191 cases followed by 117 cases.
Share this information, sourced from the National Human Rights Commission (NHRC), in return on questions at Lok Sabha on Tuesday, the Ministry of the House said that after Chhattisgarh and above, most cases were registered in Assam (49), Jharkhand (49)) , Odisha (36), J & K (35), Maharashtra (26) and Bihar (22).
Country / UTS where zero cases of death in police meetings are recorded are Goa, Mizoram, Sikkim, Tripura, Chandigarh, Dadra and Nagar Haveli, Daman and Diu, Lakshadweep and Puduchery.
Delhi recorded 8 cases of death in a police meeting, according to NHRC data.
The ministry of the house said there were no records maintained centrally regarding the number of first-registered shots for the murder of the meeting, the number of sustainable investigations against police officers on charges of murder meetings and the number of police officers punished by this accusation.
The National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) has issued guidelines on 12.05.2010, in accordance with what deaths during police actions must be reported within 48 hours after the occurrence.
Quick prosecution / disciplinary actions will begin with all naughty officers who are found guilty of a magisterial investigation / police investigation.
