67% meet the requirements to take the second dose in Karnataka

Bengaluru: Of the 84.7 people who are scheduled to receive the second dose of Covid-19 vaccine in Karnataka on July 23 (morning), only 67% or 56.7 lakh has been fully inoculated, reported Sunitha Rao Ra.
The government now made an effort to track The remaining 33% or 27.9 lakh and manage priority doses.
This group includes health workers and frontline workers and people over 18 years.
While coverage varies, 11 districts have done better than the country average when it comes to managing the second dose.
The remaining 21 districts are left behind, the data on July 20 shows.
While the Udupi has stabbed 90% of those who qualified the second time, Chamarajanagar has the lowest coverage at 49%.
Koppal (50%), Yadgir (53%), Vijayapura (54%), Ballari (56%) and Haveri (57%), in that order, has had better than Chamarajanagar, but still has a lot to cover.
The districts are different from BBMP, which has been fully inoculated 83% of those who qualify, while the Bengaluru urban district includes 80%.
“The target varies and mostly increase every day because more people have completed 84 days after taking the first dose of Covishield and four weeks after taking Covaxin to be eligible,” the official said.
The health department of health and family families acknowledges that there are many who have not appeared for the second dose of the covishield even after completing 84 days.
Dr.
Arundhathi Chandrashekar, Mission Director, National Health Mission, Karnataka, said the country took steps to connect with people because of the second dose.
“The priority is to manage the second dose for everyone who qualifies and ensures complete immunization,” Dr.
Chandrashekar said.
“We also check through Asha workers on the ground to ask if the first dose recipient is scheduled for the second dose.” Confusion over intervales many reasons for the second relative dose coverage, one of which is the government’s decision to change the interval between the dose of covishield.
It triggered confusion between several people, said Dr.
Chandrashekar.
The second dose of covishield vaccination must be taken within 12-16 weeks of the first dose, according to the Indonesian Government Guidelines.
For Covaxin, the interval is 4-6 weeks.
Dr.
Chandrashekar clarified that the Co-Win portal will receive registration even if someone delays the second dose outside 16 weeks.
However, vaccination data does not include many who have not received the first dose certificate, despite receiving shots.
Some health officials told to say many professionals and workers who took the first dose in their hometown and village and returned to their workplace like Bengaluru, had not taken the second dose.
“For example, some of those who take the first dose in Bagalkot have returned to Bengaluru or to the district where they are employed.
They must be reminded that their second dose is too late,” said Dr.
Anant Desai, District Health Officer, Bagalkot.
The district has covered 59% of the target for the second dose.
Delaysofficial infection also shows that there may be cases where someone contracts infection after taking the first dose.
In such cases, they can take the second dose only after three months since they tested positive.
“In most cases, infection will not be severe because the protection is offered through the first dose,” said an official.
“There are also cases of people who give up on Covid despite taking the first dose.
However, it will be a very small part of 33% due to the second dose.” Back in other officials said, now the limitations have been appointed, most of the working class Back to work and there are worries about taking a dose on weekdays.
“We have tried to analyze why workers dawn from taking the second dose,” said an official from North Carnataka, who was trying to drive a vaccine for comfortable workers.
“Since Sunday is a holiday, they want to take it on Saturday night after working hours so they don’t have to miss work if they experience side effects such as fever.”
