67-year-old man was held to kill grandchildren

Coimbatore: Police Rathinapuri here arrested a 67-year-old man on Wednesday on charges of killing his grandson.
Gradson with his grandparents, M Murugan and Muthulakshmi.
His father died 10 years ago and his mother settled in Dindigul after the second marriage.
“Vijayaragavan is a unemployed.
He often returned drunk and used to fight with his grandparents because he found the bride for him.
His grandparents could not find him a suitable bride,” said a police officer.
On Monday morning, Vijayaragavan was found unconscious in his room.
He was taken to the hospital, where the doctor stated that he was taken dead.
“Murugan filed a complaint that Vijayaragavan reached the drunk house the night before and went to sleep.
Murugan said when he and his wife tried to wake Vijayaragavan in the morning, he was found dead,” the officer said.
“However, the postmortem report stated that Vijayaragavan was strangled to death.
We became suspicious of Murugan’s story and asked him.
He claimed that he suffocated his grandson to death using the wire with the help of his two friends.
He said his grandson harassed him and his wife,” the officer said.
The police have also picked up his two friends to be questioned.
