Pune: A 68% of Covid patients who died due to complications in medical colleges managed by the government and hospitals in the last 48 days were not vaccinated, the latest report by the Maharashtra medical department said.
The remaining 32% includes patients who are fully vaccinated and partially, both with or without the underlying medical conditions.
Overall, there were 807 Covid-19 deaths in the state of December 1 to January 17 – in all private and government facilities.
From these deaths, 151 was recorded at the hospital attached to the medical universities managed by the government and were analyzed in the MEDD report because these institutions were under the department.
Officials said that 102 of 151 patients who died had not received a single dose of vaccines.
The other 49 has a single dose or both shots.
Some of them have also reported late to the hospital, only after the symptoms worsened, officials said.
The Head of the State Covid Task Force, Dr.
Sanjay Oak, said the numbers shown clearly, remain unknown of course not a good idea.
He added, “legally, we cannot make mandatory vaccination.
Therefore, the only open option is to educate and make people sensitive to take a shot.
We need to send messages hard and clear that if you can still get an infection, But if you remain not vaccinated, you are more likely to get a severe Covid and maybe even land with complications.
Most of Covid’s deaths in the United States are also observed among those who do not divee.
