New Delhi: A total of 680 personnel of the Central Armed Police forces (CAPF) such as CRPF and BSF have committed suicide in the last six years, Rajya Sabha was informed on Wednesday.
The State Union Minister for Nityanand Rai said the number of personnel who had died of accidents and meetings during the period – 2015 to 2020 – respectively 1,764 and 323.
According to the data provided by CAPF and Rifles Assam, the 680 personnel had committed suicide for six years Finally, he said he replied written questions.
Rai said domestic problems, diseases and financial problems could be a contributing factor, among others behind suicide.
