Chandrapur: State Minister of Energy Nitin Raut on Saturday launched a modern length pipe conveyor system 6 km for direct transportation of coal from the Bhatali coal mine to the Super Thermal Power Station Chandrapur (CSTP).
This particular system is the first to Boal India Limited (CIL) and Mahagenco.
The RS200 Crore project has a support capacity of 6,000 metric metrics per day.
“The Pipe Conveyor System is a step towards modern development, efficient, and environmentally friendly coal transportation from mine to electricity projects,” said Raut.
He claimed that it would walk far in mitigating the environmental impact of transproasi road by removing coal dust and scattered vehicle emissions.
“It will also help avoid coal theft and facilitate the quality and quantity of coal for power plants with lower transportation costs,” he said.
The minister further said that a similar system of more than 16.5km was being built from five mines in the WCL Nagpur area to supply coal to Khaparkheda and the Koradi power plant in Nagpur Regency.
He also revealed the plan to build a floating solar project that had a 105 MW power plant capacity in the Ibuai Dam here.
“We have provided official approval for RS660 Crore projects.
Approval is waiting with the union ministry for unconventional energy,” he added added that it would also provide work to 100 people.
Guardian Minister Vijay Wadettiwar raised the problem of high pollution caused by power plants and other industries, and welcomed the Mahaguso initiative to limit pollution.
In the presence of tigers and other predators in the CSTP area, he demanded the construction of a compound wall around the project area.
He also raised fears over fly ash from Abu Bund CSTP which flowed into the Iron River and demanded direct steps.
The Minister of Energy Agrees to demand a compound wall and ensure that steps are taken to strengthen Abu Bund.
State Minister of Power, Prajak Tanpure, MLA Prathibha Dhanorgar, MLA Kishor Jorgewar, ZP President Sandhya Gurnule, high-ranking officials of the Ministry of Power, Mahagenco and WCL were present during the program.
